2d3d Animations, Wizzfilms Partner on Zelphire Feature

Under the framework of Cartoon Connection, in conjunction with the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF), Florent Mounier, Co-founder of 2d3D Animations (Angoulême/France) and Danny Bergeron, President of Wizzfilms Inc. (Montreal) are pleased to announce their partnership for the co-production of « The Rise of Zelphire, » an animated feature adapted from the 2009 Karim Friha comic book series published by Édition Gallimard.

Ottawa, Ontario (Oct. 20, 2010)--Under the framework of Cartoon Connection, in conjunction with the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF), Florent Mounier, Co-founder of 2d3D Animations (Angoulême/France) and Danny Bergeron, President of Wizzfilms Inc. (Montreal) are pleased to announce their partnership for the co-production of  « The Rise of Zelphire, » an animated feature adapted from the 2009 Karim Friha comic book series published by Édition Gallimard. The production will be shared between the two studios, situated respectively in Angoulême and Montréal. The collaborators have announced that they will tell the story through an innovative stop-motion animation technique, which has been developed specifically for the project by 2d3D Animation and Montreal-based Mokko Studio.

Dans le cadre du CARTOON CONNECTION tenu en marge du Festival International d’Animation d’Ottawa Messieurs Florent Mounier, cofonfateur de 2d3D Animations à Angoulême (France) et Danny Bergeron, Président de Wizzfilms Inc. de Montréal ont procédé à la signature d’une entente de coproduction d’un long métrage d’animation relief adapté de la Bande Dessinée « Le Réveil du Zelphire » écrit par Karim Friha et publiée en 2009 aux Édition Gallimard. La production sera réalisée conjointement dans les studios d’animation d’Angoulême et de Mokko Studio de Montréal. Les producteurs indiquent que le film sera réalisé à l'aide d’une technique d’animation Stop-Motion numérique mise au point conjointement par les deux sociétés.
