NEW YORK -- June 30, 2009 -- Scholastic Media, a division of Scholastic Inc., announced today that award-winning writer, producer and director Jack D. Ferraiolo has returned to the company's animation studio division, Soup2Nuts, in a new position as Development Executive.

Ferraiolo will work with the company's Development Group, and is responsible for developing new and existing properties at Soup2Nuts's Boston-area studios and Scholastic Media's New York offices. He will review and develop Soup2Nuts program pitches, oversee their pitch presentations and represent the company at industry events.

Ferraiolo received a 2008 Emmy Award for Best Writing in Animation for the hit animated series, WORDGIRL, which moved quickly from interstitial shorts to a five-day-a-week slot on PBS Kids. In addition to co-developing that show, he served in various roles at Soup2Nuts, including as editor on the company's acclaimed animated television series SCIENCE COURT for ABC, editor and producer on the cult-favorite series HOME MOVIES for Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" programming block, and in multiple production roles for O'GRADY on The N children's network.
