Due to a complaint by the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, the FCC is running an inquiry into whether the Nicktoons' Skechers-produced toon ZEVO-3 violates the rules between blending entertainment and advertising during kids programming, reports Variety.

The property was originally produced by Skechers Entertainment to be included in shoeboxes. Nickelodeon claims that it and Skechers worked hard to make sure the TV series version would not violate FCC rules.

The inquiry puts in question whether the show will still premiere on Oct. 11. The FCC has scheduled Oct. 22 for public comment and Nov. 8 for replies.

The show follows three young superheroes battling villains in New Eden City.
