Eyetronics Expands to Canada

Eyetronics will expand its high resolution scanning services to Canada. The first satellite office will open in Montreal in September, with plans to roll out further expansion to Toronto and Vancouver in 2008.

Eyetronics has provided 3D scanning for several feature films lensed in Canada. These include OUTLANDER, THE LAST MIMZY, THE FOUNTAIN, LAND OF THE DEAD, ICE PRINCESS, BLADE: TRINITY, PAYCHECK, FREDDY VS. JASON, CATWOMAN and BULLETPROOF MONK. Eyetronics is currently in production on a number of new feature film and television projects being shot in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

Eyetronics has also worked on several high profile commercials produced in Canada, including British Telecom and Honda, and has forged relationships with many Canadian game developers. Eyetronics' success in efficiently producing hyper-real 3D scans of more than 1,400 Major League players and coaches for games from Sony and 2K Sports generated such new business as the scans for Edmonton-based BioWare's recent, highly innovative game MASS EFFECT.

Eyetronics' 3D scanning was also chosen for many of this past summer's feature film releases, such as OCEAN'S 13, RUSH HOUR 3 and THE INVASION.

"We have a solid client base in Canada and having our new offices in place over the next twelve months in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver will provide greater service and convenience for our customers," said Nick Tesi, VP of Operations. "And although our systems are extremely mobile and give us the capability to be anywhere in the world within 24 hours or less, the growth of production in Canada demands that we have systems in place at all times."

Eyetronics, known for its unique ability to deliver highly photorealistic scans of all species of animals, has developed powerful new technology capable of producing a full body scan in 90 seconds. The accelerated scan time has been especially appealing to producers of films with large casts of characters. Scan data from Eyetronics' lightweight, portable equipment is processed in the company's proprietary software and exported as fast and accurate 3D models with 4K texture and color data, ready for immediate integration in production pipelines.

Eyetronics (www.eyetronics.com) has corporate offices in Leuven, Belgium, and Los Angeles, and recently opened a satellite office in Montreal, Canada.
