eyeon Software Ships Fusion for Linux

eyeon Software Inc. announced that Fusion for Linux is immediately available. Based on the recent December release of version 5.1, Fusion on Linux is the company's next universal platform initiative.

"We have been working hard on Fusion Linux, discovering along the way the necessary changes required to provide a product equal to the task of both the Fusion and Linux communities," said eyeon ceo Steve Roberts. "And we're really proud to deliver this in time for the holidays..."

eyeon's universal approach to developing Fusion resulted in comparable benchmarked performance and interactive user experience on Linux as well as Windows, with the same rendering results in mixed OS environments. This approach has significant advantages in the ability to host the same Fusion plug-ins on Linux, including Adobe After Effects plug-ins.

eyeon is initially proceeding with a selective release of the Linux version. To control the technical and support issues associated with Linux's wide variety of distributions and hardware setups, eyeon will be qualifying the release to studios and artists.
