Exclusive Content During Premiere Episode of The Clone Wars

Cartoon Network will feature exclusive content during commercial breaks from the premiere of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, the first weekly television series from Lucasfilm Animation. Walden Media and EA will both utilize the high profile night of programming to promote their upcoming properties through two custom promotions.

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS premieres on Cartoon Network Friday, October 3 at 9 p.m. (ET, PT) with a limited commercial, one-hour presentation that anchors the network’s all-new night of fantasy, action and adventure.

Cartoon Network now has a custom spot throughout the on-air schedule that encourages viewers to tune-in for the premiere STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS and catch an exclusive game code for SIMCITY CREATOR within commercial breaks. The new game allows users to fully construct amazing virtual cities and hire assistants to run each location. The on-air spot will include key videogame footage and promote the release date for the game from EA.

Cartoon Network will release the exclusive code during a commercial break within the premiere episode. To further enhance the custom promotion, EA will extend game awareness across Cartoon Network.com through pre-roll video on STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS and the custom STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS online game featured on the Web site. SIMCITY CREATOR banner ads will also be featured across the Cartoon Network Web site throughout the promotional period.

Walden Media is using the evening to feature an exclusive, extended look at the upcoming family adventure CITY OF EMBER starring Bill Murray, Tim Robbins, Saoirse Ronan and Harry Treadaway. CITY OF EMBER is the story of two teenagers and their race against time to uncover the mysteries of an ancient underground city of lights. Cartoon Network will feature a unique 90-second look at the film during a commercial break within the premiere episode of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS. Cartoon Network will have custom promotion the night of the premiere and feature tune-ins for the trailer the week leading up to it. The film is due out in theatres nationwide on October 10.

In the first episode, "Ambush," Jedi Master Yoda and three clone troopers must face off against Count Dooku's dreaded assassin Asajj Ventress and the massive Separatist droid army to prove the Jedi are strong enough to protect a strategic planet and forge a treaty for the Republic.

The episode is directed by David Bullock (JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE NEW FRONTIER) from a script by Steve Melching (THE BATMAN). Dave Filoni is supervising director, George Lucas is the series' creator and serves as executive producer, and Catherine Winder is producer.
