Press Release from Evergreen Entertainment

Leading Brazilian distributors Europa Filmes, responsible for bringing Oscar winning film SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE to Latin America, have acquired Brazilian rights to Big Animation's LITTLE KRISHNA (13x 23’). Europa Films have been growing since the 1990s and have become increasingly interested in animation, taking on such successful titles as PERSEPOLIS, SPIRITED AWAY and the POKEMON films.

"There was a concern," said Evergreen's Steve Walsh, "that the series might be perceived as being too Indian, but this sale to Brazil coupled with another sale to predominantly Muslim Malaysia shows that our concerns were unfounded." TV and DVD rights have been acquired for Malaysia by Nexus IT Solutions in Malaysia, a branch of the International Nexus Telecommunications.

LITTLE KRISHNA, which has been a great success on Nickelodeon, India owes its popularity to its strong storylines, great scripts full of action, comedy and heartfelt drama, and its beautiful 3D animation.

The series, which is targeted at the whole family and is inspired by India's rich cultural heritage, is perfectly fitting for our modern age, teaching the younger generations of our multi-ethnic societies the values of love, selflessness and respect of other cultures.

In addition, the 13 half hour episodes also come as three feature-length movies and are available in both English and Hindi language versions, making them easily adaptable to different broadcasting needs. Many other deals are in the pipeline as a result of MIPCOM and the show will also be available at ATF in Singapore in December.
