Fire guts Ottawa Animation Festival office

A major fire has gutted the Ottawa Animation Festival office and put the
office completely out of commission. "It looks like a war zone," says Chris
Robinson, Festival Director. "Fortunately, no one was hurt in the fire, but
virtually the entire contents of the office have been destroyed. I believe
that we can salvage some things. Fortunately we
have insurance...however, a number of animation cels, our animation

The US premiere of PERFECT BLUE, a 1997 Japanese film directed by Satoshi
Kon takes place at the Cinema Village theater. PERFECT BLUE is the story of
a soap opera actress who finds it difficult to distinguish between her TV
persona and real life. The film won the public prize for best Asian film at

Corner, an exhibit of Walt Disney's Winnie the Pooh artwork, Animazing
Gallery will hold a cocktail reception on Thursday, July 29 from 4-8 pm.
John Fiedler, who has been the voice of Piglet since Disney's first Winnie
the Pooh short, will be on hand, and an original production cel featuring
