Karl Cohen Curates Bay Area Animation Screening

Posted In | News Categories: Events, Short Films | Geographic Region: North America | Site Categories: Events, Short Films
The Bay Area has a long history of artists creating exceptional animation. This program showcases the unique visions and rich imaginations of animators who work—or have worked—locally. Enjoy their humor, journey into wonderful worlds, and even ponder a statement or two about the human race. We think you will agree that Bay Area animators rank right up there with the most creative minds in cinema.

Guest curator Karl Cohen is a passionate advocate for animation. He is the president of ASIFA, San Francisco and professor of animation history at San Francisco State University. He is the author of Forbidden Animation: Censored Cartoons and Blacklisted Animators in America, as well as hundreds of articles on animation, and is currently writing a book on animated propaganda.

These two animation programs contain adult content. Not recommended for children.
