Hiroshima Festival Works The Stings On Puppet Animation

Created 15 years ago, the Hiroshima Festival celebrates peace through the art of animation. This year’s event will feature special programs on the work of Tadahito Mochinaga; Turkish animation; a screening of LOTUS LATERN; and a retrospective of Feodor Khitruk. Seminars on the creation of animation will be led by world-renowned artists Bärbel Neubauer, Jarques Drouin and Paul de Nooijer. Puppet aficionados MacKinnon and Saunders will lead a seminar on how to make puppets. The festival will hold other various seminars and workshops during the event. Hiroshima gives out a grand prize, Hiroshima prize, debut prize and Renzo Kinoshita prize, along with several special jury awards.
