Miami, FL - Florida Supercon returns in 2009! Now in its 4th year, FSC once again moves into a larger venue as the three day festival continues to grow. This year's event will take place June 5, 6 & 7, 2009 at the Doubletree Miami Mart Airport Hotel and Convention Center in Miami, FL. The three day festival will take place in the convention center's west hall (50,000 sq. feet) and the convention center's entire second floor (over 35,000 sq. feet) making this the largest genre event to ever hit South Florida. The show will include celebrity guests, artists, writers, vendors, industry guests, Q&A's, parties, costume contests, anime programming, manga, cosplay, workshops, panels, cosplay photo shoots, dance parties, console gaming, LAN gaming, tabletop gaming, collectible card gaming, tournaments and more!
We are proud to announce that superstar artist Tony Moore has joined our guest list.
Tony Moore has been a force in the comic industry since 1999, when he and Robert Kirkman teamed up to publish BATTLE POPE. Shortly after, he and Kirkman worked together on the Image licensed MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE comic and Brit before launching the book both are most known for, THE WALKING DEAD. Tony was the original artist for THE WALKING DEAD until issue #6, and was the cover artist for the title until issue #24. Since then, his credits have included FEAR AGENT, THE EXTERMINATORS, THE AMORY WARS, XXXZOMBIES and ROB ZOMBIE'S SPOOKSHOW INTERNATIONAL. Currently his work can be seen in Marvel's GHOST RIDER and will soon be teaming up with Rick Remender on THE PUNISHER.
Tony Moore joins an already impressive lineup which includes:
Bruce Campbell: Legendary Actor, Writer, Director and Producer. Bruce is best known for his starring role as Ash in the Evil Dead trilogy (EVIL DEAD, EVIL DEAD 2 AND ARMY OF DARKNESS). He currently stars as Sam Axe in Burn Notice. Bruce has an array of impressive credits which include: THE ADVENTURES OF BRISCO COUNTY JR., MY NAME IS BRUCE, BUBBA HO-TEP, SKY HIGH, JACK OF ALL TRADES, XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS, SPIDER-MAN, SPIDER-MAN 2, SPIDER-MAN 3, AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE: THE MOVIE, MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN and CONGO. In addition to his film career, Campbell is an accomplished writer, including authoring an autobiography, IF CHINS COULD KILL: CONFESSIONS OF A B MOVIE ACTOR and a comical novel entitled MAKE LOVE! THE BRUCE CAMPBELL WAY.
Matthew Lewis: Star of the HARRY POTTER series of films, Matthew has portrayed Neville Longbottom in HARRY POTTER & THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE, HARRY POTTER & THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, HARRY POTTER & THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN, HARRY POTTER & THE GOBLET OF FIRE, HARRY POTTER & THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, HARRY POTTER & THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE and the upcoming HARRY POTTER & THE DEATHLY HALLOWS.
Doug Mahnke: Doug is a superstar artist whose twenty year career has included credits as the co-creator of THE MASK, and artist of BATMAN: THE MAN WHO LAUGHS, FINAL CRISIS, FINAL CRISIS: SUPERMAN BEYOND, FINAL CRISIS: REQUEIM, JLA, BATMAN, MAJOR BUMMER, NIGHTWING, BLACK ADAM: THE DARK AGE, STORMWATCH P.H.D., SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL and JUSTICE LEAGUE ELITE. Doug is set to be the new ongoing artist for GREEN LANTERN, with the first issue shipping this June.
Sheldon Moldoff: A true legend in the comic book industry. Sheldon started as Bob Kane's first assistant on BATMAN, working with BATMAN off and on for thirty years. From about 1939, he was one of DC's most prolific cover artists, illustrating many covers, including the cover to ALL AMERICAN #16, the first appearance of GREEN LANTERN. In 1953 he became one of the lead artists on BATMAN, which he continued to draw for the next 14 years. During his BATMAN run, Sheldon created and co-created a slew of characters including: The Bat-Girl, Bat-Mite, Ace The Bat Hound and Poison Ivy.
Mark Brooks: Superstar Comic Book Artist. Credits include: AVENGERS: THE INITATIVE, NEW X-MEN, ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, ULTIMATE X-MEN, ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR, TRANSFORMERS, CABLE & DEADPOOL, AMAZING FANTASY, ARANA, WHAT IF?, G.I. JOE: BATTLE FILES and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN.
