Annecy Fest Announces 2013 Conference Program
The Annecy International Animation Festival has announced this year’s lineup of professional conference panels. Directed by Christian Jacquemart and Rene Broca, the panels are organized by theme -- fabrication, European features, VFX & animation and emerging tools – and are based on actual cases and effective practices used in studios.
See below for the 2013 program:

Within the industry of TV series as well as feature films, the major challenge studios are exposed to is to maximize the quality/productivity ratio. This conference will present different examples from studios' current practices: how do they respond to the artistic and technical challenges?

Previsualisation tools are becoming more common, although primarily used in live action productions with visual effects to try to obtain a better artistic control with lower cost by highlighting beforehand to advantage the production. Speakers: Duncan Burbidge (The Third Floor, UK); Daniel Gregoire (Halon Entertainment, USA). Moderator: Baptiste Heynemann (CNC, France).

The animation feature has to deal with the difficult equation of proposing original visual and narrative universes but without either the economic power of the American studios or the cheap labour force of emerging territories.
