* Friday, April 28, 2000. Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

On January 12, 2000, Marc Davis passed away, leaving behind a legacy of some of the best known and most memorable animated characters of all time. The Sixth Annual Marc Davis Lecture on Animation will pay tribute to Marc Davis and his prolific and prodigious career. Leonard Maltin, who moderated the inaugural Marc Davis Lecture with Davis himself, will once again offer his insights and perspective on Davis' prominent place in animation history. Maltin will be joined by Andreas Deja (THE LITTLE MERMAID, THE LION KING) and other animators who will discuss how their work was, and continues to be, influenced by Marc Davis. The Lecture on Animation was established to provide a forum for established film animators and other experts in the craft to share their experiences, as well as to explore with colleagues the challenges of creating animation for the screen. Starting at 8 pm, the event will take place at the famed Samuel Goldwyn Theater. Tickets for the Sixth Annual Marc Davis Lecture are free. Tickets are required and there is a limit of two tickets per person. For more information call (310) 247-3000, extension 111.
