Escape Studios Secures Venture Capital Funding

Press Release from Escape Studios

London, 01 July 2009: Escape Studios, the world's leading school of computer graphics, has secured funding from leading UK Venture Capital Trust, Chrysalis VCT, to accelerate the development of its distance learning services for the computer graphics industries.

Chrysalis VCT's investment reflects strong growth in the visual effects industry, with the UK Film Council predicting a boom in the film production industry in the second half of 2009. As the premier school of visual effects, Escape Studios provides learning, recruitment and technology services for the computer graphics industry. The funding will primarily be used to help the company fulfil its ambitions of driving international adoption of its industry-leading distance learning courses.

"Despite the recession, demand for visual effects services remains strong and the games industry is still growing, meaning skilled computer graphics artists have a wealth of opportunity", says Dominic Davenport, CEO of Escape Studios.

"Drawing on our experience and working closely with many of the world's most renowned visual effects studios, this funding will enable us to strengthen our position as the world's leading school of computer graphics and meet the international demand to train and develop highly skilled computer graphics professionals," he says.

"We believe Escape Studios is well positioned to capitalise on the growth of the visual effects industry, said Robert Wilson, Investment Director at Chrysalis VCT. "Our investment provides the company with further opportunities to develop its portfolio of expert online learning solutions and fuel market growth in the visual effects, animation and computer games industries."
