EP Eric Mueller Joins Gasket Studios

Executive Producer Eric Mueller joins Minneapolis-based design, animation and VFX company Gasket Studios, where he is working on spots for General Mills & Cheerios, McDonald’s, Sony PlayStation and Mayo Clinic, as well as a branded film for Subaru.

Minneapolis-based design, animation and VFX company Gasket Studios announced that it has hired Eric Mueller as Executive Producer. Mueller has already hit the ground running, working on spots for General Mills & Cheerios, McDonald’s, Sony PlayStation and Mayo Clinic, as well as an underground-style branded film for Subaru, and an upcoming project for the Provincetown International Film Festival.

“Eric is someone who can bring a stronger voice to the design side of Gasket,” says Greg Shultz, Founder/Executive Creative Director of Gasket Studios. “He’s confident, articulate, and has a solid background in photography, writing and film. He’s also a great storyteller, which will be extremely important in capturing our distinct point of view as a company.”

“One of Gasket’s strengths is character animation, which I’m excited to learn about,” adds Mueller. “It’s a different skillset and pipeline than what I’m used to working in motion graphics and VFX. The team brings an incredible level of artistry and passion to what they do – and I am fascinated by the creative freedom that comes with working in animation.”

Most recently, Mueller was Executive Producer at motion504. During his six-year tenure at the broadcast design and animation studio, he worked with such clients as Target, Deloitte, Greenpeace, Syfy, BBC and National Geographic, among others. He was previously Executive Producer at Splice Here, where he not only helped the company flourish from three to 25 people, but also produced a range of projects, from commercials and indie films to corporate videos for clients including Best Buy, Little & Co. and Twin Cities Public Television.

Mueller got his start as a filmmaker, contributing his production talents to TV, features and commercials. As Director of Production at the Minnesota Film Board from 1999 - 2001, he was the primary liaison between production companies and the Minnesota film community. Prior to this role, he was a producer at postproduction house HDMG for five years. Other experience includes Producer at Paisley Park, where he worked on several Prince projects (during the "symbol" years), including "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World," "3 Chains o' Gold," "The Undertaker," and "The Sacrifice of Victor."

An avid Instagram user (@ericmueller) with more than 33,000 followers, Mueller enjoys staying in touch with his creative side outside of work by sharing his photography, as well as staying active within the local arts community. He looks forward to extending his passion for fostering creativity to Gasket’s in-house talent by encouraging junior staffers to realize their full potential.

“The people here are very loyal,” concludes Mueller. “Greg [Shultz] is very committed to improving everyone’s skills, always striving to make Gasket a better place to work, and, ultimately, attracting better work to repay that loyalty. It’s a virtuous circle.”
