Cartoombria 2003 is a Non-competitive festival without entry fees. It has become a point of reference in Italy for what concerns the contemporary trends in animation by achieving its yearly presentation as regards the study in depth of the relationship between animated images, new media, music and visual arts. Cartoombria 2003 will in fact include multimedia and audiovisual experimental performances in realtime (acted by musicians and computer artists), environments and installations exhibition, screenings, seminars, meetings conducted by special guests. The screenings program will also showcase 3D CG, Flash and mixmedia short films, visual effects, previews and schools works, music videos, ads, promos, trailers, games movies, motion graphics, Web and computer animated cutting-edge productions. Cartoombria.com portal will also include the annual Web animation online guide, extended to Web design and Web art, that's called Animutations (its sections are: Web cartoons, Web comics, Web games, Web reviews, Web experiments). The festivals objective is to address to specialized press, to the general audience, to the young public, to multimedia, fine arts and communication students and scholars familiar with animation and Internet willing to keep pace with technology and the new cultural performances. The event takes place in two venues: the seventeenth century "Santa Cecilia" Auditorium and the Centre for Contemporary Art Trebisonda both located in the historic center of Perugia.
