Encore Boosts Executive Sales Team

Deluxe-owned post and VFX facility Encore names Robert Glass Senior Vice President, Sales Worldwide and hires Augie Melendez as Vice President, Sales.

Hollywood, CA – Post production and visual effects company Encore has named Robert Glass Senior Vice President, Sales Worldwide and hired Augie Melendez as Vice President, Sales. Longtime industry veterans, both executives serve to anchor leadership within the growing company out of Encore's Los Angeles headquarters.

With almost two decades of experience, Glass now oversees sales for Encore locations worldwide as well as Level 3 Post, a Burbank-based post production shop in the Deluxe Entertainment Services network, parent company to Encore. Part of an overall restructure to help Encore expand into emerging markets, the new post allows Glass to continue nurturing close ties with studios, while also leveraging the connectivity of Encore's diverse locations to arrange custom end-to-end solutions. With access to some of the industry's finest engineering and the savvy to navigate global tax incentives, Glass enables clients to set up production anywhere in the world that aligns with a show's unique storytelling and budgetary requirements.

“At Encore, we strive to ensure that regardless of location, productions have access to our expertise and technology on a local level. Robert has been an integral part of Encore’s ongoing success and is the perfect person to drive synergy across our facilities globally,” said Encore Executive Vice President Bill Romeo.

“Our team continually refines each project to match pace with an evolving media landscape and address the demands of increasingly dispersed productions. I look forward to guiding our global sales force through these exciting transitions and devising ways to best serve our clients’ unique needs; our 4K pipeline is already in use, our VFX work recently won an Emmy and now we are starting to experiment with the viability of HDR,” Glass noted.

Brought in by Glass, Melendez joins Encore after spending six years as Director of Post Production at Warner Bros.’ in-house post facility, where he helped establish its TV operation. Having cut his production teeth supervising post on “Family Ties,” Melendez is a seasoned television pro who has aided in the creation of shows for nearly every network. His inaugural project for Encore is a 4K 35mm film pilot for Amazon.

“I’m extremely happy and proud to be part of a company that not only has a great legacy but also remains on the forefront of technology. I love being able to offer clients the freedom to choose the medium and location that best fits their productions, without sacrificing quality or convenience,” Melendez expressed.

In addition to its Los Angeles facility, Encore also holds offices in New York, Vancouver, London and Toronto, and offers near-set services anywhere in the world via mobilabs, a proprietary compact system for on-site color management and dailies.
