Elmo, New Danish Friend to Host Sesame Block on TV 2 in Denmark

Sesame Workshop, the non-profit educational organization behind SESAME STREET, is stamping its passport and traveling to Denmark with localized SESAME programming this fall on public broadcaster TV 2. The new block will include programs PLAY WITH ME SESAME, ELMO'S WORLD and interstitials with SESAME STREET's fairy-in-training Abby Cadabby. The block is scheduled to premiere September 2009 and will be hosted by Denmark's own Elmo and his new Danish friend.

The still unnamed block will consist of two seasons (80 x 30). Danish children will be jumping out of their chairs with classic SESAME STREET characters during the interactive series PLAY WITH ME SESAME. ELMO'S WORLD allows children to explore their imagination by looking at the world through the eyes of everyone's favorite furry red monster. Interstitials with Abby Cadabby and her friend and mirror, Looky Lou, will feature live-action segments of children living, playing and learning around the world.

Local SESAME STREET programs produced in countries as diverse as South Africa, Bangladesh and India are making a difference in more than 120 nations.
