Following the demise of Egmont Imagination earlier this year, the company's former U.K. managing director, Tatiana Kober, has launched Bejuba! Entertainment, based in Toronto with an office in Los Angeles. The company will specialize in financing, exploitation and distribution of intellectual property rights across all key markets and platforms.
"It's harder than ever to get the money together to produce a show, and one-stop broadcast commissions are pretty much a thing of the past," said Kober. "I established Bejuba! to be the ideal place for new and existing companies to come to when wanting to build a strong entertainment brand strategy. We will take care of the all of those extras required in exploiting new properties domestically, internationally and across all media - everything that creators simply do not have the expertise nor the time to work on."
Bejuba! has already signed a deal with Pesky and the Pox on their animated series, THE AMAZING ADRENALINI BROTHERS, to develop the popular animated short-series into a long form format. The company has also signed on King Rollo Films in the U.K., the newly formed National Geographic Kids Programming and Production in the U.S., Tapas Prods. in Canada and GreenWay Prods. in Norway.
Korber has 15 years of experience in international television production and distribution with companies like TVO, BBCWW, NHK, Endemol U.K. and Egmont Imagination. Her experience includes the overseeing of the financing, development and distribution of such hit TV properties as LIZZIE MCGUIRE, PAZ THE PENGUIN and TRACEY MCBEAN.
