National College of Arts Starts Toon & Video Courses

The National College of Arts (NCA) has launched six-month courses in animation and video production in collaboration with French art institution Ecole-d’ Art. TV producer Shaukat Zainul Abidin, writer Asghar Nadeem Syed, former Ptv Lahore general manager SM Anwar and UN goodwill ambassador Faryal Gauhar will serve as the faculty members. The college will also get assistance from the Ministry of Information and Technology and Telecom Division to run the courses.

Zafar Iqbal, the academic coordinator for the NCA’s multimedia department, will visit France next month to hold an exhibition of modern and traditional arts like ceramics, miniature and animation.

The National College of Arts, home to a century old living tradition of art education was established in 1875 as the School of Industrial Art. It was one of the four major schools of art established by the British in India. For more information, visit www.nca.edu.pk.
