Go to camp, make a short film, is the mission of the upcoming Oregon3DSM Film Camp, August 17-29, 2003 in Portland, Oregon. Oregon3D Inc., The Center for Visualization Technologies, offers a two-week film school-style camp where the students create a short film as a group under the guidance of award-winning director Mike Wellins and Oregon3D's Discreet-certified flame compositor Phil Guzzo (both previously from Vinton Studios).

Beginning with a location shoot using 35mm, students will continue on with digital transfer, editing, special effects production and animation, screen dailies and finish with final film post and output at the school's cutting-edge facility, that offers industry standard tools such as 3ds max, combustion, Maya and MOTIONBUILDER.

The camp also features lunchtime lectures with industry professionals and tours of some professional studios and facilities in Portland. Students will take home a DVD and VHS copy of the final film, along with a new credit to add to their reel. Oregon3D may also submit the film to festivals and competitions. The cost of Film Camp is $1,500 and includes some lunches. For additional information on Film Camp, class registration and scholarship applications, visit the Oregon3D Website at www.oregon3d.com/filmcamp.html or contact Oregon3D at (866) 626-9100.
