Friedman 3D Starts New Semester Jan. 10

Friedman 3D starts its new semester of high-end, low-cost CG training on Jan. 10, 2005. The semester runs until June 24, 2005.

The Maya CG course runs from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday for 20 weeks. The course is taught by David Gottlieb, a Maya animator formerly with Walt Disney Co.

Subjects covered will be: modeling, texturing, rigging, character animation, lighting and effects. Morning lectures will cover intro to basic subjects and occur daily from 9:00 to 11:00 am and labs from 12:00 to 2:40 pm.

Section Two lectures will cover more advanced subjects and will be conducted from 12:00 to 2:40 pm, labs in the morning. (Cost is $75 for the semester.)

An additional class will be offered in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects and will run from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. Instruction will be delivered by Nancy LeMay, who has worked for NBC and a host of other companies. The class starts Jan. 11 and runs until June 25, 2005. (Cost is $25 for the semester.)

The Friedman 3D program is located at Studio Arts, 570 W. Avenue 26, Suite 425, Los Angeles, California 90065 and is a non-profit, collaborative venture between the Los Angeles Unified School District's DACE program and Studio Arts Ltd. (www.studioarts.tv)
