Beaver Cola Hits Market as the Essential Animation Tutorial
Press Release from tonyteach.com
ATLANTA, GA – The latest addition to the rapidly growing arsenal of tonyteach.com tutorial DVDs, “Beaver Cola,” is poised to hit the market as a simplified, step-by-step approach to creating animation from concept to finish. Aptly subtitled “Anatomy of a 30-second Short,” the “Beaver Cola” tutorial is a down-and-dirty, no holds barred Toon Boom Animate featurette designed specifically for animation students and enthusiasts as well as film and video professionals, producers, editors and other digital artists. Its creator, Tony Ross, founder and owner of tonyteach.com and ar-tist.com, seeks to position his newest tutorial as an effective, imaginative and reasonably priced learning solution and a welcomed alternative to the generic and far-too-often cost prohibitive tutorial products currently available to animation fans.
Ross, with his talent for animation and penchant for tongue-in-cheek comedy, has created the “Beaver Cola” tutorial based on a little known and previously unheralded by-product of the zoological realm, castoreum—a food additive extracted from the anal glands of beavers that has been used in beverage production for nearly 80 years. The subject of the tutorial focuses on a beverage company’s effort to create an animated short that markets its product while paying homage to the fact that the primary ingredient in their soda comes from the “business end” of a beaver—a little gross, but a lot of fun!
Highly regarded as an animator and educator, Ross has more than a decade of teaching and freelance experience as an artist and animator. He has served as a professor of electronic arts at the Atlanta College of Art (ACA) and taught teen and adult courses in computer animation and web design as a faculty member in the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)/ACA Continuing Education Program. Specializing in animation, motion graphics, interactivity and web design, Ross’s tutorials have been featured on Adobe.com, Creative Cow, Gomediazine and Toon Boom. His impressive roster of freelance clients for animation, multimedia and web design includes Dabel Brothers, Dean Koontz, Marvel Comics and The Freedom Toast.
Tonyteach.com is a staunch advocate for the value and accessibility of education, supporting the premise that learning should be affordable, not an exclusive privilege reserved for “the haves.” Nor, should students and lifelong learners have to go into debt to acquire additional knowledge and skills. To advance this mission, the goal of this project is to raise a minimum of $1,000 for the production and marketing of the “Beaver Cola” tutorial DVD, and to seize this opportunity to spread the word about the wonders of the tonyteach brand, which currently features a notable array of free and low cost video tutorials.
Behind the campaign
The “Beaver Cola” tutorial DVD is slated to be released to the public March 30, 2012, at a cost of $25, plus S&H. In advance of the public release, a special offer is now available to the first 600 backers who contribute just $1 to pre-purchase the entire DVD as a download that delivers more than three hours of Toon Boom Animate instruction. To raise the balance of the funding goal, copies of the physical DVD are now available for $15 (inclusive of S&H) for those who prefer the disc, or have missed out on the $1 deal.
Contribute $35 and receive the exclusive “Beaver Cola” t-shirt along with the DVD. The front of this eye-catching, green t-shirt is artfully emblazoned with the “Beaver Cola” logo and the back is plain. Or, for those who are game enough to take a walk on the wild side, the optional castoreum money-shot can be imprinted on the back of the shirt.
