U.S. high school seniors wanting to pursue a career in the arts can apply to Arts Recognition and Talent Search (ARTS) for the chance to share $900,000. Applicants will also be eligible for $3 million in scholarships by arts colleges across the U.S, which range from $100 to $25,000. The final application deadline is October 1, 2003 with the submission/audition materials deadline being November 1, 2003. Applications may be obtained through high school art teachers, by visiting www.ARTSawards.org or calling 1-800-970-ARTS.

ARTS is the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts' (NFAA) annual program where exceptionally talented actors, dancers, filmmakers, classical, pop and jazz musicians, photographers, visual artists, vocalists and writers are identified and rewarded. Eligible artists must be high school seniors or 17 or 18 years old. Each year, NFAA invites up to 125 finalists to participate in "ARTS Week,” an all expenses paid week of final auditions, master classes, workshops and showcase performances in Miami, Florida. In addition, at the request of the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars, NFAA nominates up to 50 ARTS finalists for the Commission's consideration in selecting 20 Presidential Scholars in the Arts.
