Aardman Animators to Teach Animation Masterclass

Skillset and the South West Regional Development Agency are supporting an exclusive professional masterclass offering unique insight from stop frame to CGI, designed and taught by animators for animators. Participants will have an opportunity to discover how Aardman Animations and DreamWorks are translating the skills of highly experienced stop-frame character animators into CGI.

This masterclass is aimed at stop-frame and 2D character animators, industry trainers, higher and further education tutors in CGI and animation and anyone interested in discovering how to transfer their traditional animation skills into a CGI environment.

In today’s market animators must be flexible and tackle a variety of animation techniques. Development of CGI technology means an increasing use of CGI in stop-frame feature films, not only for visual effects work but also for character animation – as proven in the box-office hit WALLACE & GROMIT: CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT.

Many leading CGI animators worldwide started their careers creating either Stop Frame or 2D animation – find out how you can make the same journey.
