As part of the The Visual Effects Societys events for eDIT 8, the Filmmakers Festival, taking place in Frankfurt, Germany, from Oct. 911, 2005, will highlight digital intermediate (DI) and digital editing.
The panel How the Digital Intermediate serves Filmmaking unites distinguished professionals from different areas of film production to share their experience with the medium and discuss the use of intermediates in practice. Panelists include Gavin Finney, bsc is DoP; Ted Gagliano, vp of FOX postproduction; Alex Ho, producer (HOTEL RWANDA); Michael Underwood, colorist (HOTEL RWANDA); and Henning Raedlein of arri tv. The panel will be hosted by Carolyn Giardina on Oct. 10. Regarding HOTEL RWANDA, Ho and Underwood will describe the practical problems that came up and their solutions in great detail.
Also on Oct. 10, experienced editors will discuss the latest developments and the classical art of editing. Panel includes Mathilde Bonnefoy (RUN LOLA RUN), Alex Shuper (edgecode.com), Herve Scheid (AMÉLIE) and Peter Przygodda (DONT COME KNOCKING). eDIT 8.
