eDIT 10 Filmmaker's Festival to Honor ILM

The eDIT 10th Filmmaker's Festival, which takes place from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 at CineStar Metropolis in Frankfurt, will offer presentations of HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END, SPIDER-MAN 3 and TRANSFORMERS.

ILM: Past, Present and Future will be the subject of the Keynote. Marketing Director Miles Perkins dares to define the future prospects of the VFX industry on the basis of a retrospective of ILM's best works.

This year Academy Award winning VFX Supervisor John Knoll presents the visual effects development within the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN trilogy. CG Supervisor Hilmar will offer a presentation of TRANSFORMERS.

Rainer Gombos, VFX Supervisor (PIXOMONDO) introduces one of the most ambitious German feature film productions: DER ROTE BARON.

Animation is also a main topic of eDIT Filmmaker's Festival. Bill Plympton presents the making of his upcoming feature film IDIOTS AND ANGELS to be released this winter. SPIDER-MAN 3's lead character animation will be discussed by Spencer Cook of Sony Pictures Imageworks. And the film-like animation of CRYSIS, Crytek's new videogame, is explained by production manager Michael Endres.

Tippi Hedren is the guest of honor and will accept a posthumous award for Alfred Hitchcock. Hedren will discuss Hitchcock with Carolyn Giardina of THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

Director Abel Ferrara will also get Festival Honors

Festival Honors Salons, eDucation and eDward complete the festival's anniversary program.
