Eden FX Names D' Amico as Exec Producer

Visual effects shop Eden FX has expanded its production team by naming Andrea D'Amico as exec producer. In her new post, D'Amico will specialize in the production of feature film visual effects. Regarding her new position, she says, "Eden FX has an excellent track record in long-form television visual effects and recently made an impressive entrée into the feature world by providing over 200 fx shots for HELLBOY, and a beautiful fx shot for THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST. I'm very excited to be joining my friends here at Eden, to help the company grow its feature film visual effects department."

Prior to joining Eden FX, D'Amico had been, since 2002, vp, visual effects, for Ascent Media. Her most recent projects there included work on Warner Bros.' T3," Twentieth Century Fox's LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN, HBO Films' ANGELS IN AMERICA and Revolution Studios' PETER PAN. Earlier, in 1993, she joined Pacific Ocean Post to establish a high-end commercial division. A year later, she started that company's feature film visual effects unit - POP Film. As exec producer at POP Film, D'Amico oversaw digital effects work for such major feature films as INDEPENDENCE DAY, TITANIC and WHAT DREAMS MAY COME.

Through POP's transition to R!OT Pictures, D'Amico continued to develop the company's feature film visual effects work, contributing to such projects as Universal's SCORPION KING and Revolution Studio's THE ONE. R!OT Pictures was later merged into Ascent Media.

D'Amico began her industry career as a digital artist working in New York's advertising community. There, she gained valuable experience in the creative world of Madison Avenue. She became a partner in the New York optical company EFX Unlimited, where she designed and shot optical effects for features and documentaries. Pursuing her interest in digital effects, she next joined Charlex, N.Y., as a motion graphics designer and visual effects producer.

In 1990, D'Amico joined C.I.S. Hollywood, as visual effects producer. There, she contributed to the development of digital effects for feature films, and the later inception of EFILM.

Formed in 2000 by visual effects and post-production notables John Gross and Mark Miller, Hollywood-based Eden FX (www.edenfx.com) specializes in visual effects work in the areas of 3D animation, character animation, 3D tracking, compositing, direction, on-set supervision and conceptual design and consultation

Eden FX continues its role as the primary provider of CG vfx for the syndicated Paramount Television series, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE, currently in its third season on UPN. Other recent projects include NAVY: NCIS, JAG, ALIAS, SIX FEET UNDER and SUMMERLAND.
