Nelson McCormick (PROM NIGHT) is the director. Bret Easton Ellis adapted the script from Michael Hornberg's novel.
Panettiere stars as a high school senior who fears she will be the next victim of her town's curse, which claims the life of one 12th grader each year.
Media Talent Group's Oren Segal, Bystander Films' Chiara Trento and Mangrove Media's Jason Dubin are the producers. Myriad Pictures is repping global rights excluding North America.
Production will take place in Louisiana in the spring.
