Imagenation Abu Dhabi has cast Khalid Laith (THE DEVIL'S DOUBLE) and Razane Jammal (CARLOS) in DJINN, reports Variety. Tobe Hooper (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE) will direct from a script by David Tully.
The story follows a young Emirati couple who moved back from the States into a high-rise luxury apartment built on the site of an ancient fishing village, which is haunted by a djinn.
The cast also includes Aiysha Hart, Carole Abboud, Paul Luebke, May El Calamawy, Ahmed Abdullah, Saoud Al Kaabi ands Abdullah Al Junaibi.
Emirati director Nayla Al Khaja will assist Hooper as a cultural consultant. Daniela Tully and Filmworks' Tim Smythe. Jaye Gazeley and Robert Crippen are the producers.
Filming will take place in the United Arab Emirates in March.
