Disney Unleashes Classic Cartoon Favorites on DVD

As a companion to its invaluable TREASURES DVD series, Disney has launched the first volume of the CLASSIC CARTOON FAVORITES collection on Jan. 11, 2005. The initial hour-long discs are devoted to Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Chip n Dale (Walt Disney Home Ent., $14.99 each).

* The Mickey shorts previously available but mostly out of print include: MICKEYS CIRCUS, MICKEYS GARDEN, ON ICE (1935); ORPHANS PICNIC and MOVING DAY (1936); HAWAIIAN HOLIDAY (1937); and THE LITTLE WHIRLWIND (1941).

* The Donald shorts include: DON DONALD (1937); DONALDS DOG LAUNDRY and DONALDS VACATION (1940); GOLDEN EGGS, OLD MACDONALD DUCK and CHEF DONALD (1941); INFERIOR DECORATOR (1948); and BEE AT THE BEACH (1950). The latter two are new to DVD.

* The Goofy shorts previously available but now out of print include: THE ART OF SKIING and BAGGAGE BUSTER (1941); HOW TO FISH and HOW TO SWIM (1942); THE BIG WASH (1948); HOLD THAT POSE (1950); LION DOWN (1951); and FATHERS DAY OFF (1953).

* The Chip N Dale shorts new to DVD -- include: CHIP N DALE (1947); THREE FOR BREAKFAST (1948); FOOD FOR FEUDIN and OUT ON A LIMB (1950); CHICKEN IN THE ROUGH and OUT OF SCALE (1951); and DRAGON AROUND (1954).
