Disney Fetches Bolt in Digital 3-D

Walt Disney Animation Studios' BOLT will bow in the studio's patented Digital 3-D format when the feature opens Nov. 26, 2008, reports THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

Directed by newcomer Chris Williams, who helme Disney's next short GLAGO'S GUEST, also in 3-D, BOLT is about a sheltered and pampered TV star dog named Bolt (voiced by John Travolta), who gets a jolt of reality when he accidentally gets thrust on a cross-country journey.

BOLT follows Disney Digital 3-D conversions of MEET THE ROBINSONS, TIM BURTON'S THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS and CHICKEN LITTLE.

Meanwhile, Burton recently signed a two-film deal with Disney to direct ALICE IN WONDERLAND and FRANKENWEENIE in 3-D, with the former being done as performance capture and live action and the latter as stop motion.

Disney's next Digital 3-D release will be the HANNAH MONTANA/MILEY CYRUS: BEST OF BOTH WORLDS CONCERT TOUR, which will play theatrically Feb. 1-7. For more info, go to www.Disney.com/HannahMontana3D.
