The next Disneyland attraction to get a film might be the Matterhorn. Heat Vision reports that Jason Dean Hall (GRAND THEFT AUTO) has been hired to pen a script that weaves the ride's bobsled theme into the plot, reports Heat Vision. Justin Springer (TRON LEGACY, PROM) is the producer on the project tentatively tiled THE HILL.

A trip to Switzerland inspired Walt Disney to conceive of the ride, which debuted in 1959. A 1978 revamp added three automatronic Yetis to the experience.

The plot of the script will follow five adventurous young people who are mysteriously summoned to the top of the Matterhorn where they have run-ins with Yetis.

The Matterhorn project can be added to Disney's list of ride films in development. Guillermo del Toro is working on a reboot of THE HAUNTED MANSION, David Fincher is set to direct a new 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA, and Jon Favreau is directing MAGIC KINGDOM, which is a NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM-style comedy adventure set in Disneyland.
