At the 2002 NAB show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Discreet announced plasma -- its professional 3D animation software for creating 3D content for Web interface, graphics and interactive 3D. Discreet's plasma software will provide a 3D-animation toolset to create imagery for both Macromedia Flash Player and Shockwave Player. plasma has integration with all versions of Macromedia Flash including the recently released Macromedia Flash MX and Macromedia Director 8.5 Shockwave Studio. According to the manufacturer, plasma is equipped with a feature-rich Macromedia Flash renderer and superior Shockwave 3D support, for easy addition of interactive real-world physics or skinned characters within Websites. Discreet will demonstrate plasma at Flashforward2002 in San Francisco, April 2-3, 2002 and the software will be available for purchase in late spring 2002 in North America for US$650.00.
