Digital Arts World In London This Week

Digital Arts World begins October 9 and runs through October 11, 2002. For the first time, the event combines the 3D Festival and LEAF conference, offering streams on VFX, Games, Computer Music and Emerging Technologies and a show floor with four Digital Villages covering the themes of Web Design, Graphic Design, 3D Graphics and Computer Music. Highlights of the show include: Carlos Saldahna of Blue Sky Studios reveals the secrets of the animated feature ICE AGE; ILM hosts a morning of presentations devoted to the digital creation OF STAR WARS: EPISODE II "ATTACK OF THE CLONES"; Shelley Page, European Representative for DreamWorks Feature Animation, hosts the 3D Festival Film Festival on Thursday, October 10 and leads a "How to get ahead in the industry" masterclass on Friday; Anthony LaMolinara from Sony Pictures Imageworks discusses the effects and techniques used in SPIDER-MAN; and many more artists will be sharing their experiences on films such as MEN IN BLACK II, HARRY POTTER, STUART LITTLE 2 and LORD OF THE RINGS. Plus, the LEAF Awards, honoring the best new work of companies and individuals involved in creative development of visual effects and animation, will be presented on Wednesday, October 9.
