Digiscope Moves and Announces VFX Slate

After 10 years in Santa Monica's landmark "graffiti" building, visual effects company Digiscope has moved to a spacious new facility. The new location, a modern glass and brick architectural building across from Digiscope's former home, features a newly constructed digital projection theater in a light-filled, collaborative environment.

Said Dion Hatch, visual effects supervisor at Digiscope, "We've built a new pipeline and digital infrastructure with the strength and flexibility to meet the needs of our clients and the demands of their projects. The new digital theater will be an important component in our production process."

The 15-seat digital theater is outfitted with a digital projector and a 20-foot wide screen. Here clients and artists review dailies in digital format, freeing Digiscope from daily trips to the film labs. While the facility has the ability to record to film, most projects are delivered on FireWire drives for clients to bring to their DI facilities.

Mary Stuart, visual effects producer at Digiscope, added, "Our clients really appreciate how beautiful the space is, but they love the fact that our new theater means faster turnarounds and cost savings for their projects."

Digiscope is currently in production on visual effects for FANTASTIC FOUR: THE RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER for director Tim Story, IN THE VALLEY OF ELAH for director Paul Haggis and SALOMAYBE for writer and director Al Pacino.

Digiscope recently completed visual effects production on GEORGIA RULE for director Garry Marshall, NEXT for director Lee Tamahori, GRACIE for director Davis Guggenheim (AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH) and THE REAPING for director Stephen Hopkins and producer Joel Silver.
