DIC Toons Online With Yahoo!

DIC Entertainment has partnered with Yahoo! Inc., to launch Yahooligans! TV, a first-of-its-kind cross-programming initiative designed to drive online and on-air viewership of DIC cartoons and expand broadband content offerings on Yahoo!.

Yahooligans! TV (yahooligans.yahoo.com) will feature animation content exclusively from DICs extensive library of more than 3,000 half-hours of childrens programming that will mimic the exact viewing experience achieved on the DIC Kids Network. It is the first time that any of DICs programming will be available online.

DIC and Yahooligans! are also developing broadband advertising and cross promotional campaigns that will include on-air promotion to drive kids from the DKN to Yahooligans and from Yahooligans to the DKN.

Kids today are spending equal amounts of time watching TV and surfing online so this is a way to reach them through both mediums, said DIC Ent. president Brad Brooks. Our strategic partnership with the worlds leading global Internet company guarantees unlimited opportunities for DICs programming to reach an even broader audience of young online consumers of animated content, as well as affords us the opportunity to offer advertisers a cross platform purchase.

Yahooligans! is constantly searching for new and unique avenues to provide dynamic age appropriate content for kids, as well as provide marketers with opportunities to reach children, commented Jim Moloshok, svp for media and entertainment, Yahoo!. Launched in September 2003, DIC Kids Network is a unique three-hour programming block available on 450 stations across 100% of the U.S. markets on more than 450 stations, airing literally in every DMA across the country. DKN has competed head-to-head with the major kids networks. DKN offers broadcasters three separate programming feeds, along with a Spanish language feed on virtually every series for the SAP channel, which airs in 200 different stations, creating a commercial sweep for major advertisers, including Hasbro, McDonald's, Kellogg's, Bandai, Master Foods, Mattel, Nintendo and Universal Studios.
