DIC Kids Network High On Ratings

The DIC Kid's Network has been surpassing major kids commercial broadcast networks since launching Sept. 1, 2003, according to David Ozer, svp, domestic television, DIC Ent.For week of December 1, 2003, DIC Kids continued its strong performance, garnering a 1.3 rating with K6-11 and topping Fox Box (1.2), ABC Kids (1.0), CBS Kids (0.8) and NBC Kids (0.7). The block also scored a 1.2 with K2-11, outperforming Fox Box (1.1), ABC Kids (0.9), NBC Kids (0.7) and tying CBS Kids (Source: NSS/NTI 12/1/03 12/7/03), Saturday/7:30 am 1:00 pm) AA%/GAA% for DIC)."We are extremely thrilled with the week-in and week-out performance of the DIC Kids Network especially in only its first season, said Ozer. We strive to meet both our station and advertisers expectations by offering competitive programming that delivers competitive ratings. We are competing and beating networks that have been on the air a lot longer than the DIC Kids Network.

DIC's three-hour programming block for kids, designed to help stations meet their FCC "core" programming requirements, reaches 100% of U.S. markets on 400+ stations and airs in every DMA across the country. The DIC Kid's Network, which premiered on major broadcast outlets, including local FOX, WB and UPN affiliates, offers three separate exclusive programming feeds, along with a Spanish language feed on virtually every series for the SAP channel, airing on more than 200 different stations. This creates an attractive commercial sweep for major advertisers, including Hasbro, McDonald's, Kellogg's, Bandai, Master Foods, Mattel, Nintendo, Universal Studios, Nestle and Chuck E. Cheese's. Tribune Ent. handles advertiser sales.

The programming blocks are comprised of six half-hours of animated programs from DIC Entertainment's extensive library of more than 3,000 half-hours of popular animated programming, including SABRINA, SHERLOCK HOLMES IN THE 22ND CENTURY, ARCHIE'S WEIRD MYSTERIES, THE LITTLES and more. DIC plans to bring additional series such as MARY-KATE AND ASHLEY, the animated series, featuring the worlds most famous twins, and LIBERTYS KIDS, a series depicting the stories of the American revolution, starring the voices of Dustin Hoffman, Whoopi Goldberg, Michael Douglas, Sylvester Stallone, Annette Bening, Ben Stiller, Liam Neeson and Walter Cronkite, among many others.
