DIC Ent. (DIC) has named Hasbro veteran Michael Verrecchia to the position of svp of marketing. In his new position, Verrecchia will oversee all marketing and promotional initiatives for DIC, including marketing strategies for the company's brand properties STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE and the upcoming release of TROLLZ. He will be responsible for creating and executing multi-layered retail and consumer campaigns, including advertising, promotions and publicity.
"Mike brings a wealth of experience in brand marketing to DIC that runs the spectrum, and we are thrilled to add him to our team," said Brad Brooks, DIC president. "DIC has grown exponentially in the last two years with the acquisition and re-launch of Strawberry Shortcake and development of the Trollz brand, and we are excited to have a marketing executive of Mike's caliber onboard to develop innovative marketing initiatives to launch Trollz into the marketplace next year.
Prior to joining DIC, Verrecchia served for nearly 14 years as a marketing exec in various divisions at Hasbro Inc. From 2002 - 2004, he was the director of marketing at Hasbro for Disney's girl brand toy product lines, including Princess, FINDING NEMO, TOY STORY and THE LION KING, whereby he was responsible for all marketing functions, as well as P&L management. Verrecchia also served for two years as director of marketing at Hasbro for the Playskool preschool initiatives, leading the launches of brands such as COOL CREW and BOB THE BUILDER. For more than four years, he held the position of senior brand manager for licensed brands at Hasbro and oversaw the product development on brands including STAR WARS Girls.
