DIC Adds 15 Licensee Categories to Trollz

DIC Ent. (DIC) has secured deals for 15 categories with leading licensees for the companys all-new tween entertainment and lifestyle property TROLLZ. This is in addition to master licensees Hasbro (toy), Scholastic (publishing), Warner Home Video (home entertainment), Mamiye Bros. (apparel) and One World Interactive (mobile applications).

New licensees to launch Trollz merchandise in 2005, include ABG Accessories (cold weather accessories), Catton Bros. (sleepwear), ES Originals (footwear), FAB (room décor/bags/school supplies), Houston Harvest (candy/gift sets), Leeward International (daywear), MZ Berger (watches), Rubies Costume Company (Halloween), United Legwear (hosiery), Franco Manufacturing (bedding), Added Extras (cosmetics) and Shalom International (hair accessories/jewelry).

DIC acquired the worldwide entertainment and licensing rights to the classic, spiky- haired Troll character, a brand with a 50-year-old heritage from the Troll Co. in April 2004. The rollout of TROLLZ. in the extensive consumer products category is part of DICs 360 Degree approach for brand development of the property, which also encompasses an interactive, persistent web community, home entertainment, television, games, music and vigorous pre-teen targeted marketing campaign. DIC, along with its partners will simultaneously roll out all major merchandise categories in the US to coincide with 2005 back-to-school.
