DHX Media Expands Licensing Agency

DHX Media’s Copyright Promotions Licensing Group expands in North America with a new operation based in LA that will be headed by Ted Larkins.

Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (CPLG), a DHX Media company, is making a major move into the US consumer products business with the expansion of CPLG North America. The new operation, based in LA, will be headed by Ted Larkins, a pre-eminent industry veteran with a strong track record in managing high-profile consumer brands.

The US office will seek to exploit opportunities in the world’s largest consumer goods market and build on CPLG’s 40 year track record of success in Europe managing some of the best known brands in consumer goods, entertainment and sports. It will leverage properties from the US to the international market and vice versa, and offer full-service agency capabilities of licensing, sales, retail development, product approvals, finance and legal services.

Ted Larkins, who will take on the role of SVP/General Manager CPLG North America, is an established executive with a wealth of experience in running an agency business. He has represented major consumer, sports and entertainment brands including Pepsi, New Balance and Jack Nicklaus, and many of the Hollywood Studios’ portfolios over the years. He will report to CPLG’s CEO Peter Byrne.

CPLG North America will represent a number of high profile brand and sporting rights including The Michelangelo Collection, the iconic Space Invaders brand and St Andrews Links. It  will also be the appointed licensing agent for key entertainment brands from its parent company DHX Media, including hit properties Yo Gabba Gabba!, Caillou, Ella the Elephant, Johnny Test and the recently acquired evergreen Degrassi franchise.
