Press Release from Fluid
Marc Schwartz, Managing Partner at Fluid NYC, the New York-based editorial, original music and visual effects studio, announced today that Piranha Design is partnering with Fluid to provide further design and 3D. Piranha was founded by Graphic Designer Rob Sabatini, and 3D Artist Gaspard Giroud. Sabatini and Giroud join Fluid's roster which includes editors Greg Letson, Jim Rubino, Karama Brown, Robin Burchill and John Mallerman; designer Wes Waldren; and composers Andrew Sherman, Judson Crane, and Ryan Lott, and Sound Designer Fred Szymansky. Laura Relovsky is Executive Producer of Fluid's editorial staff. David Shapiro is Executive Producer of the company's original music division.
In making the announcement Schwartz said, "While design/VFX has always been a component of our editorial division, our partnership with Rob and Gaspard will allow us to bundle more projects that involve design and 3D."
"With the volume of work that we're seeing, it was important for us to ramp up our design capabilities. Having Piranha on board will help facilitate that, and provide us with two really talented designers," added EP Relovsky.
Rob Sabatini has more than 10 years of motion graphics and design experience in both broadcast design and agency work. During that time his work has been shown internationally and has received multiple awards and nominations including 11 Emmy Nominations, 2 New York Emmy Awards and multiple Promax Awards. Rob attended Fordham University and the School of Visual Arts.
Gaspard Giroud attended the Paris-la-Villette architecture school where he was granted a Fulbright scholarship, earning an MS in Advanced Architectural Design. In addition to 3D design for broadcast, he has worked in computer simulations (the visualization of the new World Trade Center), Motion Graphics and Visual Effects. Gaspard also teaches computer representation at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture.
Their clients include Nike, Reebok, Microsoft, Showtime, L'Oreal, Cliff Freeman, Deutsch, HBO, MSG Network, Ogilvy, Sci-Fi Channel, MTV, and USA Networks.
