Denny’s Teams with Stoopid Buddy for ‘The Grand Slams’

Starring a delicious cast of characters based on the brand’s most iconic dish, web series ‘The Grand Slams’ follows the diner gang on their everyday adventures at the booth and beyond.

Denny’s and Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, the studio behind Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken, have joined forces to create a new animated web series, The Grand Slams. Starring a delicious cast of characters -- Egg, Pancake, Sausage and Bacon -- based on the brand’s most iconic dish, The Grand Slam, the series follows the diner gang on their everyday adventures at the booth and beyond.

A new trailer introduces the cast and provides a preview of the upcoming series, launching Oct. 15. The first episode kicks off with a diner debate on the merits of dessert vs. breakfast, resulting in a savory standoff where Bacon and Sausage take on sweet and tasty Pancake. Additional episodes will be released now through January, following the cast’s hilarious escapades through Halloween, a Bold Coffee emergency and much, much more.

“As we continue to grow as a brand and engage with our millennial audience both on-and-offline, it is important we extend conversations beyond our diner walls and into the social world where they live and breathe,” said Denny’s marketing VP John Dillon. “Stoopid Buddy Stoodios has helped us to create this unique series that brings our brand to life in a fun, fresh way, which will allow us to connect in a manner that’s relevant, and on their terms.”

“We’re incredibly excited to collaborate with Denny’s,” said John Harvatine IV and Eric Towner of Stoopid Buddy Stoodios. “We really enjoy it when we have the opportunity to create content that’s a little unexpected and ‘The Grand Slams’ brings breakfast to life in a way that’s never been done before.”

In addition to the online episodes, guests will have access to the cast by scanning a QR code on Denny’s placemats in-restaurant, or via the brand’s mobile app where they can get to know their favorite breakfast items on the go.
