Guillermo del Toro and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA executive producer David Eick are teaming up to develop the new HULK TV series for Marvel TV and ABC Studios, reports Deadline.com. The show will be an origin tale of a young Bruce Banner as he first becomes the Hulk. The series will use a combination of prosthetics, puppetry and CG for the big green hero.
Del Toro and Eick will devise the pilot story with Eick penning the script and Del Toro directing.
Marvel hopes to have the series ready for fall 2012, which would follow the summer theatrical release of THE AVENGERS.
Gary Ungar, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb and Marvel Ent.'s CCO Joe Quesada will exec produce with Del Toro and Eick.
