Def Jam: ICON Among EA's New Releases

DEF JAM: ICON is among a host of new titles that have been recently release by Electronic Arts. Other new releases include: BATTLEFIELD 2142: NORTHERN STRIKE, MEDAL OF HONOR COLLECTION and three new sports titles.

In partnership with urban lifestyle powerhouse Def Jam Interactive, DEF JAM: ICON infuses hip hop beats with an advanced, next generation fighting gameplay system for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. Players use the music to their advantage to strike down their opponent with DEF JAM: ICON's new Building's with Bass fighting mechanic. The musically charged environments become alive to the beat, creating hazards that you can use to defeat your opponent. Players can even trigger the beats to set off the hazards at the right time with the game's unique DJ Controls. Never before has music become an instrumental part in the actual gameplay of a videogame.

DEF JAM: ICON's soundtrack features new tracks from Big Boi, Lil Jon, Ludacris, T.I., and Young Jeezy. To keep the music fresh, players can load their own MP3s into the game version for Xbox 360 and have their favorite beats drive the environment and gameplay.

Additionally, Electronic Arts has released BATTLEFIELD 2142: NORTHERN STRIKE for the PC via EA Link at www.ea.com/ealink for $9.99. BATTLEFIELD 2142: NORTHERN STRIKE has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB and was developed at the EA Digital Illusions (DICE) studio in Stockholm, Sweden.

Emphasizing close-quarters combat, BATTLEFIELD 2142: NORTHERN STRIKE drops gamers deep into a desperate conflict for control of Earth's last scraps of inhabitable land following the onset of a cataclysmic new ice age. The Pan-Asian Coalition (PAC) has secretly moved into mainland Europe, using abandoned urban areas to establish new strongholds in a last-ditch push for superiority. The European Union must quickly mobilize north to dislodge PAC forces from a series of urban strongholds and regain the upper hand.

Electronic Arts shipped NBA STREET HOMECOURT for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will be available in Europe on March 23, 2007.

In addition, Electronic Arts Inc. shipped TIGER WOODS PGA TOUR 07 for the Wii.

Electronic Arts Inc. also shipped ARENA FOOTBALL: ROAD TO GLORY, the only arena football game available to fans of the extreme action sport. ARENA FOOTBALL: ROAD TO GLORY brings to life the hard-hitting, high-scoring intensity of 50-yard goal line-to-goal line battles. The game, under the EA SPORTS brand, is available on the PlayStation 2.

From the af2 to the AFL, including classic historical squads, more than 80 teams will be made available in ARENA FOOTBALL: ROAD TO GLORY and for the first time, fans can play as their favorite af2 franchise. In addition, players can take the af2 circuit by storm by winning the ArenaCup then export their players into the AFL and set their sights on an ArenaBowl championship. In ARENA FOOTBALL: ROAD TO GLORY, the player will have Total Offense Control. They can now pick apart defenders with their star receiver, while using the right analog stick to help the quarterback find passing lanes and avoid the rush.
