Deadline for British Animation Awards Nearing

The 5th Annual British Animation Awards will relocate to a new central London showcase, The Shaw Theatre, Bloomsbury. Previously it has taken place at the National Film Theatre on London's South Bank. The awards, a bi-annual celebration of the best British animation talent, will feature five new categories Best TV/Film Graphics, Best Music, Best Use of Sound, Best Comedy and a new Writers Award, bringing the total number of awards categories to 19, covering a wide range of British animation production, from mainstream entertainment to the experimental cutting edge, from student films to commercials and pop videos. Many British Animation Award winners have gone on to enjoy further success; Michael Dudok De Wit (Craft Award, Best Scenario & Best Short Film (U.K.) BAA 2002) went on to win an Oscar for his film FATHER AND DAUGHTER; Susie Templeton (Best Student Film BAA 2002) won a BAFTA for her film DOG; Chris Shepherd (Best Comedy Series for Peoples Britain) went on to make short Film DAD'S DEAD which has enjoyed critical acclaim; Michel Ocelots KIRIKOU ET LA SORCIÈRE (ex-æquo Best European Feature Film BAA 2002) has gained a U.K. theatrical release.
