Davis to Head Nick Preschool & Digital TV Communications

Jodi Davis has been promoted to the new position of vp communications, Nickelodeon Preschool and Nickelodeon Digital Television, responsible for the development and execution of all publicity efforts for Nick Jr., Nickelodeon's programming block dedicated to preschoolers; as well as all of Nickelodeon's digital channels including: NOGGIN, Nickelodeon's commercial-free, educational network for preschoolers; The N, the nighttime network for teens; Nicktoons, the 24-hour animation channel; and Nick Games and Sports (GAS). She reports to Dan Martinsen, evp, corporate communications, Nickelodeon Networks.

Davis will lead the planning and orchestrating of communication strategies for programming launches, on and off-channel marketing, major company initiatives, as well as the support of advertising sales and affiliate marketing efforts for Nick Jr. and Nick Digital services. Additionally, she will oversee all publicity efforts for current programming, including Nick Jr.'s BLUE'S CLUES, DORA THE EXPLORER, LAZYTOWN and THE BACKYARDIGANS; NOGGIN's, JACK'S BIG MUSIC SHOW, OOBI, MIFFY AND FRIENDS and CONNIE THE COW; and THE N'S INSTANT STAR, DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION, GIRLS V. BOYS and O'GRADY, as well as all programming for Nicktoons and Nick GAS.

Davis joined Nickelodeon Networks in October 2000, as a consultant, managing and overseeing the strategy and media relations effort and rollout for NOGGIN as it was split into two brands NOGGIN and The N, and has since led the publicity supporting the programming and marketing effort for both networks.

An 18-year veteran in the public relations field, Davis joined MTV Networks in 1987, where she worked in a variety of positions within the communications/media relations departments. She served as press coordinator and then publicist at VH-1 (1987-1990) and went on to launch HA! The TV Comedy Network (1990-1991), which later became Comedy Central. After launching Comedy Central (1991), Davis served as manager, and then director, media relations for the 24-hour comedy network. In 1997, Davis was vp at Dan Klores Assoc. and represented clients including NBC's LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN, HBO's THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW, Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, the 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF SESAME WORKSHOP and others.

Nickelodeon's U.S. television network is seen in 89 million households and has been the number-one-rated basic cable network for more than nine consecutive years.
