David L. Simon Joins Noodlesoup Productions Board of Directors

Former Disney, DreamWorks and FOX TV exec David L. Simon joins the Noodlesoup Productions Inc., board of directors to held guide the privately held, full-service animation studio based in New York City.

Simon is president of Simon Bros. Media & Entertainment Inc., which he formed in 2000 to identify and develop properties for film and television, as well as integrating new technologies for integration with traditional entertainment content. He is also board member and the U.S. creative director for BFC Berliner Film Companie GmbH; an executive consultant at Telitas US, Inc., a leading provider of wireless applications and carrier connectivity to the content community; as well as a consultant for David Frosts David Paradine Productions.

Simon joins Noodlesoup executives: chairman John Fitzgibbons, mds Jeffrey Nodelman, Nathan Graf, and David Lipson; as well as director Gerard De Geer who is also chairman and co-founder of Brunswick Group.

David is an accomplished and talented individual, with over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, and we are excited to be adding him to the board of directors, said Fitzgibbons. His background in development, production and distribution of television programming includes a great deal of experience in animation, and his knowledge will be very valuable to the organization.

In 1997, Simon was head of DreamWorks Television Animation Studios, where he oversaw the development and production of network and animated series as well as direct-to-video animated features. In 1988, he created and managed Disneys first international television production company, Buena Vista Productions International. Among his many accomplishments, he was responsible for building a production team that developed and produced programming in 40 countries.

Simon joined Fox Television Stations in 1986 as vp of programming and production, where he was responsible for transforming the former Metromedia independent television stations into owned and operated station group for the new Fox Network.

Simon is on the Executive Committee of the Production Executive Peer Group at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS) and is also a former president of NATPE (National Assoc. of Television Program Executives). He was also a consultant for 20th Television, the first run production company for the Fox Television Station group, and served on the board of directors of CINAR Corp., the Montreal-based entertainment and education company, from 2002-04.

Noodlesoups animation facility, founded by Nodelman in January 2001, has both 2D and 3D (CGI) expertise, and deep experience across a wide swath of media, including online, Broadway theater, commercial television, television series, direct to video and DVD, and feature film. Its client list includes Disney, Warner Bros., Universal, Cartoon Network, Miramax, Fox, The History Channel, MTV and The Johnson Group. It has also penetrated the advertising market, working extensively with, Euro RSCG MVBMS Partners, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWAChiatDay, Young & Rubicam, BBDO, Grey Worldwide, Foote, Cone & Belding, BGW and DDB Needham.
