Davey & Goliath Mark the Reason for the Season on Hallmark

DAVEY AND GOLIATH is making its return to television after a 30-year absence, in a new one-hour special, DAVEY AND GOLIATHS SNOWBOARD CHRISTMAS. The world premiere will air Dec. 19 at 12:00 noon (ET/PT) on Hallmark Channel, presented by Faith & Values Media. An encore broadcast of the program will air on Dec. 26 on Hallmark Channel at 12:00 noon (ET/PT).

In the special, Davey, who is celebrating Christmas, is jealous of the snowboarding skills of his two new friends, Sam, who celebrates Hanukkah, and Yasmeen, who celebrates Ramadan. Determined to show off in front of them, Davey challenges the pair to a race down a roped-off portion of the mountain. When the three children get into trouble, its up to Goliath and his doggone good snowboarding skills to save them.

In a remarkable show of commitment to quality programming and family values, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is bringing DAVEY AND GOLIATH back for a whole new generation of children. We believe that the specials themes of love, understanding and forgiveness are more important than ever, so we are delighted to give this gift to children this holiday season, said the Rev. Eric C. Shafer, director, ELCA Department for Communication.

Like the original series, the new special was produced by Premavision Inc. (Clokey Prods.) in Los Osos, California. Producer Joe Clokey is the son of Art and Ruth Clokey who were the original producers. Clokey assembled a production team, which includes some who worked on the original series.

New initiatives, spearheaded by licensing agent Mark Bannon of Animation Content, Llc., working closely with the ELCA, include the release of several new titles by Scholastic Inc., the worlds largest publisher and distributor of childrens books, for the spring and fall 2005 market. Additional ELCA licensing plans include a video release of the classic series, as well as the production of new episodes, toys, games and merchandise.
