Data Design Interactive Open Office In Florida

Video game developer and publisher Data Design Interactive has opened a U.S. office in Sarasota, Florida.

The purpose of opening this new studio is to help provide the correct creative atmosphere required to work effectively on today's projects. The emphasis has been placed on providing both a natural and open work environment with sunshine 320 days of the year, a central location, a ten minute walk to the ocean and a two-hour drive to Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Managing Director Stewart Green said, "With so many games companies losing millions, and U.K. companies forced to leave the country to cut costs, I'm pleased to be part of a British success story, and this has been a very successful year for our company. Our GODS development system has enabled us to design and publish 62 Wii Skus in under a year, which probably makes us the biggest and most reliable Wii developer in the world, our titles have sold very well and we now need to expand the company to keep up with the global demand for even more of our titles."

The company's U.K. office is undergoing expansion with a doubling of U.K. staff planned this year. The U.S. office will be run as a separate U.S. registered company Data Design Interactive, and will initially focus on a number of Wii sports titles specific to the U.S. market, then start work on PlayStation 3 and Xbox360 development.

Green added, "Although the tax breaks for Canada are good, the weather in Florida is far better, and we thought the staff would rather work there by the beach."

Opening this office in the U.S. will expand the company's development team -- responsible for Nintendo Wii game series POPCORN ARCADE.
